Rise up and RISE AGAINST!

No one really listens to alot of music that I do, and at the moment I really don't care about it. I am different in my music tastes and I like it. Thank you Deadmau5 for filling my ears at this very moment.

What I really want to talk about is one of my favorite punk rock/ hardcore punk/ melodic punk band is Rise Against. No one really knows that this band is fighting against the cruelty of this world. Fighting for what is right and not wrong. You never realize that there is a meaning to alot of what Rise Against is really about. There are alot about this band that I like. I bet you never knew this band were all vegetarians, and how they support Peta. That MEAT IS MURDER! Well according to the band.

Rise Against started there band in the city of Chicago Illinois, in the year of 1999. I was only 7 years old when this band was created. Though later in my life, I fell in love with this band. The Band consists of four members. Tim McIllrath is the lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Joe Principe is the bass guitarist, and back up vocals. Brandon Barnes is the drummer and percussion. Zach Blair is the lead guitarist, and back-up vocals as well. There were more members in the band, but after the years of being together, the band settled with these fortunate four.

The band has released a total of four Albums, Independent Years (1999-2003), Siren Song of the Counter Culture (2004- 2005), The Suffering and the Witness (2006-2007) and there newest one Appeal to Reason which was released October 7 of 2008. Three albums were certified platinum in Canada, and Gold in the US.

I love rise against because they are active supporters to Peta , an animal rights organization. RA was voted Best Animal-Friendly Band in 2009. There single video, Ready To Fall (hhtp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN2FrUUq-zI), contains footage of factory farming, rodeos and sport hunting, as well as defrostation, melting ice-caps, and forest fires. The group called the video the most important video that they have ever made. I recommend people watch the video because the line at the end of the song that Tim says, makes alot of freaking sense! Though no one ever thinks of the planet. "Every action has a reaction, we got one planet, one chance."

Another thing which makes this band so great are there songs, and the meanings they have in there lyrics, though it's the rhythm and the upbeat tunes that don't make you think about what they really mean. You need to sit down and wonder what the songs means. Like theses are some lines from some of my favorite songs.

  • "I brought down the sky for you and all you did was shrug, you gave my emptiness a name! You ran away!" Audience of One

  • "Am I loud and clear or am breaking up, am I still your charm or am I bad luck, are we getting closer or are we just getting more lost" - Swing Life Away

  • "One last thing I beg you please, just before you go, I've watched you fly on paper wings, half way round the world until they burned up in the atmosphere and sent you spiraling down, landing somewhere far from here with no one else around" - Paper Wings

  • "If there's no war outside, then why are we losing!! I don't ask for much, but truth be told I'll settle for a life less frightening, a life less frightening" Life Less Frightening.

  • " Hold on slow down again from the top now and tell me everything, I know I've been gone for what seems like forever and now here I am waiting" Ready To Fall

  • "When faith alone is not enough to keep our heads barely apart, we look for reason and come up empty handed, when little kids are fighting wars, we sit back and keeping score we're teaching murder not understanding" Bricks

  • "Chest thrown and tables topples, hands armed with broken bottles, we stand with no chance to win but, we're not running , we're not running!" Behind Closed Doors

  • "In fields where nothing grew but weeds i found a flower at my feet, bending there in my direction, I put my hand around it's stem pulled into the roots gave in, finding there what I've been missing!" The Good Left Undone.

So I end this with I really don't know what to say because I think I said everything that I wanted to. Rise Against is my favorite band. I love there music, I love there image, and I love that they are trying to make the world a better place to live. Cause who wants to be in a world where everyone doesn't really understand whats going on. Come on people One Planet, One Chance. Lets make things right!

First, at the Moment in Time.

I believe that media is extremely important in my life, cause if we didn't have it, oh how bored we would be. Media is just not technology, and machina, how boring, how uncreative, how lifeless. Media is a way to express ourselves, to scream to shout, to show what we can really do. Life. To live life, you must express the ways you feel. If we didn't we would be walking the same rut everyday, doing everything over and over and over and over and over and over and over, and well you get my point. Sure life and time repeats itself, but do you really want it to go this fast?

If life really did go this fast, things repeated, came, go, fade to black. What could you remember, what would you want to remember? Why do we race, when we're running in circles, what a funny way to fall, right? Where did the love go? Is it just lust? How about the curiosity? Or is it that you already know that answer to life's questions.

My passion in media I don't even know if it is media, but to me, there books. Books are my life. I would cry to see a book of mine burn. Even more if they all did. Books are my passion because you are not fed by what other people believe this character could be, will be, is. Only words tell you whats going on, it's up to you too see what going on in your own thoughts. In your own actions, in your own mind, because its what it's what we want to see, how we want to interpret it.

Though people don't have that strong connection put into words written on paper. So pictures and sounds come into play.I love my video games and I love my movies. With games not only can you pick out who you want to be, but you can play your character out. Though with movies, movies mix everything up.Twist reality with imagination, and make history come back to life. Movies can pretty much show you anything, and make your emotions soar because of the different genres with them. Action, Horror, Drama, Comedy, Documentaries, Musicals, Fantasies, Science Fiction. With movies they show you things you never thought could happen. You never know that movies can be based off true stories. When movies are like that, it tell us what really goes on in the world.

Today's world is going to the machines, the old ancient machina. My thoughts on today's modern popular culture is relying on all technology to survive. Where did our roots grow too? As we dig deep for water, and reaching high for energy, it's like our branches are growing what we rely on. Cellphones, television, computers, music players. Though since the world is relying on technology now a days, we can not help but googoo gaagaa over the new things that come out. It's because our world is changing everyday the new tech is, well are, stuff we use to communicate because it makes our lives more easier. Doesn't mean we can still send letters, gifts, videos through Mail, delivery services. Though it takes to write stuff down, package, stamp, and then ship it away. Bye bye, my wasted ours to do other stuff. When we could have done the same thing on the computer and click send. It's just not the same! Lately I am just finding media getting boring. Nothing, I seem, is getting new, it's becoming the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and well, over again. Every time we see something, hear something, read something, watch something, it's like I am relearning this all over again. Sure things are for entertainment pleasure, just to sit back and relax. There are more uses to these things that people see. Do people really use there new technology for what they are really meant for. Cause when you think about it now, your phone is like your new computer, this time its just more portable. Plus there's this fabulous timing of calling people at the same time. WOW! I never knew! (insert the sarcasm).

The Desert Island.

Help help, look I am trapped on a island in the middle of no where. Though what do I find laying at my feet are three types of media that could entertain me as I get Wilson to signal me help!

I was thinking that If I would have my Nintendo 64 to play on, I would definitely drag my Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time game with me. I love that game, cause I can never get bored of it. There's always things you can do in that game without actually defeating any temples. Just go race Epona, and wonder where all the fairies came from in the Kokari Village. How deep Hyrulian Lake really is. How long you can hold your breath for without putting on the water tunic, and not removing the iron boots. See if you can catch the biggest fish in the fishing pond. This game has to be one of the most amazing games made for that time period before Windwaker, and Twilight Princess. As I dig deeper into my bag of unknown goodies, I find myself pulling out, well what seems to be my old music player that seems to transform into a lighter. Kidding that would be to weird. Anyways I pulled out my iPod and wondered if all my music was still on it and I was thinking that I would love if it actually came with headphones, or something to blast the music out of.

I love my music, I love music in general because there is always something new coming out and thank you for Billy Talent filling my kitchen's empty space. Music is something that anyone can listen to because there's so many styles. So many genres of music, and in life it is something that no one is really going to give up because of something stupid and banning music all over the world. People are still going to post music, created music. Music I think is pretty much unstoppable. Because music started to far into the past of far will it reach into the future. It would reach far enough that our arm would be too stretched we would have someone else scratch our backs for us. Though as I deep deeper into this endless bag of mind I feel something small. Like a brick but this time softer. As I pull it out from my now wrapped up knapsack, I find out that this little book of mine is one of my favorites.

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors and I absolutely love him and I would want to marry some of his stories is I could. Though with his collections of short stories like 'Night Shift' and 'Everything Eventual' have some of my favorite shorts in them. I could never get bored on my island if I always have a King book with me. I just realized that if I don't like a short story that Stephen wrote I can always just use it to start a fire.
GET ME OFF THIS ISLAND!
